SouthStar Communities has announced the acquisition of Bluegreen Communities, a division of Bluegreen Corporation, for $29 million. SouthStar Communities is led by J. Larry Rutherford, who also served on Bluegreen’s board of directors for 14 years.
SouthStar Communities is affiliated with SouthStar Development Partners, a full-service real estate company focused primarily on the residential marketplace in the South, having created successful communities in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
SouthStar’s newly acquired residential communities include Lake Ridge and Sugar Tree near Dallas/Fort Worth, and Chapel Ridge near Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Read more

The Landings on Skidaway Island, GA Hosts Kids Fishing Derby May 26: Fish for Bluegills, Win Prizes
0 Comments/in Events and Holidays, Things To DoThe Landings on Skidaway Island, GA and its Coastal Conservation Association chapter will host the annual Kids Fishing Derby on May 26 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the community’s Kids Fishing Lagoon.
Each year, children and grandchildren of Landings residents, their guests, and other special guests are invited to participate.
For the occasion, Lagoon No. 56 has been stocked with 2,500 Bluegills.

PGA Village Verano, FL Sells Four of Six Model Homes, Construction to Begin on New Sales Center
