Fishing Success for Oldfield, SC
Oldfield, SC: Oldfield Outfitters go shark tagging.
> Oldfield, Okatie SC has been sharing news of great success from its Oldfield Outfitters resident activity group with a focus on the fine game fishing conditions out on Port Royal Sound.
Four women Outfitters members recently joined captains Leanna and Jason on the sparkling waters of the Sound and saw plenty of action.
They landed several sharks of various species which were tagged and released. The releasing is part of Oldfield’s ongoing “citizen scientist” efforts in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Resources to keep tabs on sharks and shark movement in the area. Ford’s Colony, VA Volunteer Project
Ford’s Colony, VA: Organizing volunteer collection project.
> Ford’s Colony, Williamsburg VA is assembling its Green Team resident volunteer group for community-wide collection project on Sat., June 27 at the Westbury Park section beginning at 9 a.m.
The theme of the day is “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” Material for pickup includes sneakers, in any condition, tied together for refurbishing and recycling, as well as stretchable plastic, such as grocery bags, mulch, produce wrappers and Ziploc bags. Send me more information about Ford’s Colony!
