Successful Blood Drives at Ford’s Colony
Ford’s Colony, VA: Continues successful blood drives.
> Ford’s Colony, Williamsburg VA has successfully continued its regular program of on-site blood drives in partnership with the Red Cross. Recently the community set up its donation center in its newly renovated Magnolia Room. Even with the need to observe all required COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, the goal of 50 donations was reached and exceeded.
There are plans to continue having blood drives as long as possible through the remainder of the year, while fulfilling the requirement that all donations be by appointment, that each donor must wear a mask and have their temperature taken at the front door, that all hands are sanitized, and all donors be checked in electronically. A Poker Run is an event in which participants pay a small entry fee and then fly to either five or seven airports where they receive a playing card.
