Internship Underway at Indian River CC
IRCC: New internship happening now.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL just announced that its new Hospitality Internship Program was officially underway as it welcomed 22-year-old Leena Milo as the community’s first student intern.
Milo will soon graduate from Flagler College with a degree in hospitality and tourism management.
She will intern at the club for 40 hours a week for 13 weeks, as part of her college internship requirements.
During her paid internship, Leena will be exposed to all administrative and service aspects of the Indian River Colony Club organization. Send me more information about Indian River Colony Club!
Desert Mountain Congratulates Pros
Desert Mountain, AZ: Recognizing its golf teachers.
> Desert Mountain, Scottsdale AZ extends congratulations to three professionals on the club’s golf instruction staff who have been named to the 2021 list of “Best Young Teachers in America” by Golf Digest.
The magazine’s new ranking of talented instructors under age 40 include Jennifer Tucker, Richard Franklin and Paxton O’Connor of the Desert Mountain team.
This is the first appearance on the prestigious list for Tucker and Franklin and the second time for O’Connor.

Treasure Lake Sled Derby
Treasure Lake, PA: Sled Derby Feb. 6.
> Treasure Lake, DuBois PA will hold a Cardboard Sled Derby on Sat., Feb. 6 on the community’s Sledding Hill beginning at 1:30 p.m. The event is part of Treasure Lake’s annual Winterfest celebration.
Three age groups compete in the Derby—kids 9 and younger, kids 10 to 17 and adults 18 and up. All sleds must be constructed solely of cardboard and tape. A new outdoor grill and bar was added by the driving range that allows for grab-and-go orders, pizzas, or outdoor barbeque after the round. Also, 35 percent more retail space was added to the Golf & Lifestyle Shop.
Other upgrades and additions include a new men’s card room with a new full-service bar offered in the evening.
