Indian River Colony Club, FL: Posthumous honor for resident.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL was pleased to announce that a new overpass spanning the nearby Pineda Causeway had been named for a former resident, Major General John Cleland of the U.S. Army, who lived in the community from 2001 until his death in 2017.
This posthumous honor recognized Maj. Gen. Cleland for his distinguished service in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, as well as for civic contributions over his long second career as a business consultant.
