The event is titled, “Atlanta’s Margaret Mitchell House: The Surprising Preservation Journey.” Dave Thomas, historian and professional docent, will narrate the program.

Internship Underway at Indian River CC
IRCC: New internship happening now.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL just announced that its new Hospitality Internship Program was officially underway as it welcomed 22-year-old Leena Milo as the community’s first student intern.
Milo will soon graduate from Flagler College with a degree in hospitality and tourism management.
She will intern at the club for 40 hours a week for 13 weeks, as part of her college internship requirements.

Desert Mountain Congratulates Pros

The magazine’s new ranking of talented instructors under age 40 include Jennifer Tucker, Richard Franklin and Paxton O’Connor of the Desert Mountain team.
This is the first appearance on the prestigious list for Tucker and Franklin and the second time for O’Connor.

Treasure Lake Sled Derby
Treasure Lake, PA: Sled Derby Feb. 6.
> Treasure Lake, DuBois PA will hold a Cardboard Sled Derby on Sat., Feb. 6 on the community’s Sledding Hill beginning at 1:30 p.m. The event is part of Treasure Lake’s annual Winterfest celebration.
Three age groups compete in the Derby—kids 9 and younger, kids 10 to 17 and adults 18 and up. All sleds must be constructed solely of cardboard and tape. Club at Ibis Completes $15M Capital Improvement Project

Fifteen million dollars in improvements include a new lobby.
Members will notice the changes as soon as they walk into the clubhouse lobby, where a seating area has been created to wait for friends.
At the nearby Pub, there is a new dedicated kitchen, a new outdoor bar and 30 percent more indoor seating. A new Alcove Bar and lounge provides a comfortable way station complete with fireplace.

Golf also was at the forefront of the capital improvement plans at the community which includes three Nicklaus family-designed courses.

A new outdoor grill and bar was added by the driving range that allows for grab-and-go orders, pizzas, or outdoor barbeque after the round. Also, 35 percent more retail space was added to the Golf & Lifestyle Shop.
Other upgrades and additions include a new men’s card room with a new full-service bar offered in the evening.

Entries consist of a single photograph plus a brief caption-style explanation of why the image is significant.

Reynolds Learning Series Continues
Reynolds Lake Oconee, GA: Upcoming lecture Jan. 19.
> Reynolds Lake Oconee, Greensboro, GA continues its lifelong-learning program, the “Linger Longer Living Room Lectures,” with a literary installment scheduled for Tue., Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. on the closed-circuit MyReynolds TV channel.
The event is titled, “Atlanta’s Margaret Mitchell House: The Surprising Preservation Journey.” Dave Thomas, historian and professional docent, will narrate the program.
