Successful Blood Drives at Ford’s Colony
Ford’s Colony, VA: Continues successful blood drives.
> Ford’s Colony, Williamsburg VA has successfully continued its regular program of on-site blood drives in partnership with the Red Cross. Recently the community set up its donation center in its newly renovated Magnolia Room. Even with the need to observe all required COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, the goal of 50 donations was reached and exceeded.
There are plans to continue having blood drives as long as possible through the remainder of the year, while fulfilling the requirement that all donations be by appointment, that each donor must wear a mask and have their temperature taken at the front door, that all hands are sanitized, and all donors be checked in electronically. Each participant may submit one photo per month of a subject within the Palmetto Bluff property and all photos must have complete information attached, including subjects, dates, and locations. This is a small, all-outdoor flying event that because of the Covid pandemic will not include food service, a hospitality tent or other elements normally part of annual Pecan Plantation Fly-In festivals.
A Poker Run is an event in which participants pay a small entry fee and then fly to either five or seven airports where they receive a playing card. Sea Pines Lighthouse Invitational
Sea Pines, SC: Hosts annual Lighthouse Invitational.
> Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head Island SC will host the second annual Lighthouse Invitational, an exciting four-day golf tournament, Thur.-Sun., Sept. 17-20. A two-person tournament open to both men and women, the Lighthouse Invitational will include one round on each of the resort’s acclaimed courses – Heron Point by Pete Dye, Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III and Pete Dye’s famed Harbour Town Golf Links.
