Golden Ocala Hosts Tour
Golden Ocala, FL: Hosts tournament this month.
> Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, Ocala FL will host an important event on the LPGA Tour beginning Thur., Mar. 4 and running through Sun., Mar. 7. The tournament is the 2021 LPGA Drive On Championship presented by Volvik, with a 120-player field and total prize money of $1.5 million. The format is 72 holes of stroke play, to be shown live on Golf Channel all four days.
Golden Ocala’s highly regarded Ron Garl-designed golf course will be set up at or close to its 7,063-yard back-tee distance. The course is well known for its collection of “tribute” holes, modeled on famous holes to be found at St. Andrews, Muirfield, Royal Troon and other iconic layouts. The Landings Renovations
The Lndings, GA: Completes extensive renovations.
> The Landings, Savannah GA announced the completion of a $25 million, multi-year capital improvement campaign, upgrading and revitalizing Landings Club amenities across the board. The campaign included three major projects, Marshwood Clubhouse, the Franklin Creek Sports Complex, the adjacent The Deck at Franklin Creek and, lastly, expansion of the community’s Oakridge Wellness Center. One of the first elements completed, Marshwood Clubhouse quickly took a third-place award in the Golf Inc. magazine 2020 Best New Private Clubhouse category. It features a resort-style pool complex, a cabana bar, a full-service pro shop, an event lawn and two new dining options. The Franklin Creek Sports Complex is year-round, pool complex with zero entry point, children’s splash pad and unique water feature, plus pickleball and bocce courts and a new player’s lounge, along with The Deck at Franklin Creek, is a new dining facility that offers an abundance of space to gather with friends and family.
The Oakridge Wellness Center is now a 50,000-square-foot facility with a complete range of cutting-edge fitness equipment. Members can take part in cardio, group exercise and strength training studios and programs. The Landings Hosts Korn Ferry Tour
The Landings, GA: Hosts Korn Ferry Tour this month.
> The Landings, Savannah GA is making final preparations to host the Korn Ferry Tour, the PGA Tour’s developmental circuit, in the annual playing of the Club Car Championship. The tournament, taking place Mar. 25-28, is contested on resort community’s championship-caliber Deer Creek Course. It’s a four-day, 72-hole, stroke-play competition with a total purse of $600,000.
The event will have a traditional gallery and a full-week ticket is priced at $28, which includes access to a Family Fun Zone and other special attractions. The most exciting day of tournament week happens on Saturday, the traditional Military Appreciation Day. Fans can check out a variety of military equipment, placed throughout the golf course. On the 18th green that day there is a Military Announcer and members of the U.S. military guarding the pin, adorned with an American flag in place of the standard pin flag. Red Ledges, UT: Receives honors from Golf Inc.
> Red Ledges, Heber City UT was honored by the editors of Golf Inc. magazine in the Aquatics Category of its 2021 Amenity of the Year competition, taking first place. The award cited the Village Center pool complex at Red Ledges for its superior design and functionality.
First opened in 2019, the resort-style complex features a 144-foot water slide, lap-swimming lanes, a water playground, lawn games, plus a poolside bar and grill.
