> Ford’s Colony, Williamsburg VA applauds the efforts of an activity group in the community that has been contributing to health safety in the Williamsburg area during the Covid pandemic. The 15-member Ford’s Colony Craft Club has been busy making cloth non-surgical masks for local hospitals, health facilities, continuing care communities, friends and neighbors.

Golden Ocala, FL: Fresh air, exercise – what could be better?
> Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, Ocala FL has sent out a reminder to area residents and other visitors about its unique Outdoor Gym Facility. Golden Ocala’s alternative outdoor gym complex provides fresh air and social distancing for safe and healthy fitness. It is equipped with pull-up bars, a parallel bar, balance beams, pushup bars, stall climbing bars, a sit-up chair, Roman chair and hanging rope climb.
It is designed to provide a type of training that machines cannot, using body weight versus plated weights and allowing the muscles to stretch as they are being exercised. The outdoor gym is open seven days a week from dawn to dusk. Guests can pay a daily or weekly fee to use these facilities. Send me more information about Golden Ocala!
Dataw Island Residents Save Land
Dataw Island, SC: Residents help preserve natural beauty.
> Dataw Island, SC recently announced that a group of its residents had purchased Oak Island, a parcel of land accessible only by water or by a bridge inside the community. The anonymous donors have donated Oak Island to the Dataw Island Owners Association, under a covenant assuring the land will be protected from development.
The effect is to preserve this sensitive landscape as an unbuilt refuge where members of the community can hike and explore. Plans are now in place to perform minor trail maintenance on the island, add benches and build a dog exercise enclosure. Send me more information about Dataw Island!
