Indian River CC, FL Continues to Help Vets
Indian River CC, FL provides consistent help to vets.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL recently announced that the Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) Foundation, the community’s 501(c)(3) charitable arm, had provided a grant of $4,000 to the Veterans Memorial Center to support Veteran Stand Down to Stand Up, an annual event scheduled this year for Sat., Oct. 8.
Dedicated to helping homeless veterans, Veteran Stand Down to Stand Up also provides assistance to vets in traditional housing or those facing major financial hardships. Some 250-300 homeless veterans will receive medical and legal assistance, survival supplies, clothing, help with employment, VA services and much more, via this year’s effort. > Treasure Lake, DuBois PA once again honors an October tradition at the community by staging its annual Ghostwalk at Lakeview Lodge. The main event of this two-day Halloween happening, scheduled for Oct. 28-29, is the “Haunted Tour of No Return,” which charges a $10 admission and runs from 7 to 10 p.m.

Harbour Ridge, FL: Coastal community welcomes new chef.
> Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club presented by HR Properties, Stuart FL has announced the appointment of John O’Leary as its new Executive Chef. O’Leary most recently served in a similar capacity at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Conn.
His career includes culinary leadership roles at The Ritz Carlton Hotels, St. Regis Hotels, The Peninsula Hotels, and Hilton Resorts. O’Leary will direct the four dining facilities at Harbout Ridge, including a fine dining restaurant, a poolside cafe, a casual dining room and an outdoor riverside bistro.
