Treasure Lake, PA: Independence Day w/ fireworks, more.
> Treasure Lake, DuBois PA is set for a blockbuster Independence Day Celebration happening Sat., July 2 and open to all residents and their guests. The Lakeview Lodge Pool opens at 11 a.m. for all-day swimming enjoyment and four food trucks, including one from Dimmick’s Roadway Cafe, will be on hand throughout the afternoon and evening.
Activities include bounce houses for the kids from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and live music at the Poolside Bar & Grill from 4 – 7 p.m. provided by solo performer Kurt Thomas, who’ll be followed from 7 to 10 p.m. by the five-piece rhythm combo I Want My Band. New Oyster Reef at Sea Pines Resort, SC
Sea Pines, SC: Creating new oyster habitat.
> Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head Island SC has partnered with the the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and an environmental group, The Outside Foundation, on construction of a new oyster reef along the 18th fairway of the community’s famed Harbour Town Golf Links. More than 700 20-pound bags of oyster shells were transported to the shoreline then put in place at low tide. Several local groups pitched in, including members of Hilton Head Boy Scout Troop 222.
The bags created a manmade reef that will serve as a habitat for larval oysters, where they can attach and grow. The reef will help control erosion due to boat traffic and storms, as well as support other wildlife. Send me more information about Sea Pines!

At Ease staff recognized for excellence.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL is pleased to announce that the staff of the At Ease Club, which is the community’s primary gathering and dining space, has been recognized for excellence by the Cape Canaveral Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America.
The association’s coveted Challenge Coin award went to one IRCC employee in particular, Navy veteran Edward Davis. Oldfield, SC Volunteers Update Amenities
Oldfield, SC: Volunteers update, renovate community.
> Oldfield, Okatie SC is thanking the membership of the Oldfield Volunteer Corps for its most recent group project, the complete renovation and upgrade of the long-neglected staff break room in the golf course maintenance building.
The Volunteer Corps, made up of members of the larger Oldfield living community, worked four- and five-hour shifts for nearly a month to make the maintenance team’s break room significantly better equipped and vastly more comfortable.
