Indian River CC, FL Continues to Help Vets
Indian River CC, FL provides consistent help to vets.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL recently announced that the Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) Foundation, the community’s 501(c)(3) charitable arm, had provided a grant of $4,000 to the Veterans Memorial Center to support Veteran Stand Down to Stand Up, an annual event scheduled this year for Sat., Oct. 8.
Dedicated to helping homeless veterans, Veteran Stand Down to Stand Up also provides assistance to vets in traditional housing or those facing major financial hardships. Some 250-300 homeless veterans will receive medical and legal assistance, survival supplies, clothing, help with employment, VA services and much more, via this year’s effort. Treasure Lake, PA: Halloween at lakefront community,
> Treasure Lake, DuBois PA once again honors an October tradition at the community by staging its annual Ghostwalk at Lakeview Lodge. The main event of this two-day Halloween happening, scheduled for Oct. 28-29, is the “Haunted Tour of No Return,” which charges a $10 admission and runs from 7 to 10 p.m.

Palmetto Bluff, SC: New course in the works.
> Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton SC announced plans to build a major new amenity for residents and their guests, a “reversible” nine-hole golf course. On a level 50–acre site alongside the communty’s inland waterway, the design firm of King & Collins will lay out a 3,100-acre course that can be played clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Indian River CC, FL: Welcomes new dining room manager.
> Indian River Colony Club, Melbourne-Viera FL has appointed Ryan McNamara as Dining Room Manager. Chosen over 60 other candidates for the position, McNamara will be responsible for the hiring, training and scheduling of all service staff for the community’s private restaurant, in addition to coordinating daily staffing requirements and beverage operations.

Harbour Ridge, FL Has New Executive Chef
Harbour Ridge, FL: Coastal community welcomes new chef.
> Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club presented by HR Properties, Stuart FL has announced the appointment of John O’Leary as its new Executive Chef. O’Leary most recently served in a similar capacity at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Conn.
His career includes culinary leadership roles at The Ritz Carlton Hotels, St. Regis Hotels, The Peninsula Hotels, and Hilton Resorts. O’Leary will direct the four dining facilities at Harbout Ridge, including a fine dining restaurant, a poolside cafe, a casual dining room and an outdoor riverside bistro. Palmetto Dunes, SC Hosts Tournament
Palmetto Dunes, SC: Tournament benefits Folds of Honor.
> Palmetto Dunes, Hilton Head Island SC is set to host the inaugural Kingdom Cup golf tournament, scheduled for Oct. 27–30 to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation. VIP guests will include 2022 U.S. Presidents Cup Team Captain Davis Love III; nine-time PGA TOUR winner and Olympic Bronze Medalist Matt Kuchar; and 2022 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year contender Cameron Young.
Folds of Honor founder and CEO Lt Col. Dan Rooney will give a welcoming address and tennis world champion will be on hand to entertain guests. The activity menu includes epicurean and wellness events, clinics and skills challenges and a Toptracer Range competition.
